Evidence Based Strategies for helping your child learn at home
- The three-a-day approach app – There are three essential parts to the three-a-day approach for parents:
- Talk about learning
- Share learning
- Encourage learning
This app is a simple, easy-to-do advice from professional Teachers and Counsellors is sent in three categories – something to talk about, an activity to share or guidance to encourage children.
Parents select the age category(s) they wish to receive ideas for and their preferred time to receive push notifications. This serves as an alert, reminding parents to connect with their children when it best fits both schedules
It’s important for parents to understand how their child’s mindset and positive self talk influences their behaviours, motivation, and achievement. More and more teachers and school administrators are embracing growth mindset as a strategy to bolster student motivation, and these same strategies can be used at home with great results.
