The following certificate courses are offered by The MacKillop Catholic College Registered Training Organisation:
Certificate II in Creative Industries (CUA20215)
2 Semesters, no cost, 40 NTCET credits
This course provides foundation skills for those learners who are new to the industry and have the desire to work in a community broadcasting environment. Through studying the course you will gain knowledge and skills in a wide range of interest areas, such as:
AUDIO PRODUCTION: Using sound bits, recording sound and editing sound (music and dialogue).
VIDEO EDITING: This module is a very practical module orientated towards preparing and editing to produce a short animated film. Techniques learner in these sessions will also assist in your video production phase.
VIDEO PRODUCTION: Using a professional camera in production of a short film.
Certificate II in Information, Digital Media and Technology (ICT20115)
2 Semesters, no cost, 65 NTCET credits
This course provides an introduction for learners interested in working in an IT or digital media environment. Through studying the course you will gain knowledge and skills in a wide range of interest areas, such as:
TECHNICAL SUPPORT: Setting up a computer is a fundamental foundation of the ICT industry … sometimes computers just do not work! Basic support is being able to setup a computer, find out what is wrong with a machine (diagnostics) and then communicate that to the client.
IMAGING: is the visual representation of objects you can see. Digital imaging or digital image acquisition is the creation of digital images. The term is often assumed to imply or include the processing, compression, storage, printing, and display of such images. Imaging is the foundation of the digital media in IDMT. What is important is being able to produce different images for different uses and to also produce the same image for different uses.
ON THE WEB: Having a web presence, web applications, e-commerce, social media marketing, content management systems and e-mail marketing are all part of business these days. Business and life are bound with the internet, the web. Here the uploaded product is a simple, functional business web site.
VIDEO EDITING: A very practical module orientated towards preparing and editing video to produce content for publication.
Certificate III Screen and Media (CUA30105)
2 Semesters, no cost, 70 NTCET credits
This course provides introductory skills for those learners who are new to the industry (or who have some prior experience in the creative industries) but who may have the desire to work in a community broadcasting environment. Through this course you will gain knowledge and skills in a wide range of interest areas, such as:
VIDEO EDITING: This module is a very practical module orientated towards preparing and editing to produce a short animated film. Techniques learner in these sessions will also assist in your video production phase.
VIDEO PRODUCTION: Using a professional camera in production of a short film. You will become familiar with the whole film production process from ‘idea to plan to shoot to edit’ as part of the experience.

Auspice Arrangements
MacKillop Catholic College, in addition to being a Registered Training Organisation (RTO), runs vocational education and training (VET) programs through auspice arrangements with other RTOs. The benefit of this for students is that we are able to offer a broader range of qualifications and delivery in a variety of modes (e.g. distance, online, face-to-face).
